... Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM MST
this evening...

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM MST
this evening.

An approaching late season storm system will bring strong
southwest winds to much of northeast and east central Arizona
today. Expect southwwest winds of 20 to 35 mph with wind gusts to
around 45 mph to develop by late morning or early afternoon and
continue until the evening.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph... or
gusts from 40 to 57 mph... are expected. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
Consider securing loose belongings on your property.





 Fire Weather Warning 
Statement as of 4:57 am MST on May 12, 2008


... Red flag warning in effect from 9 am this morning to 7 PM MST
this evening due to strong wind and low humidity...

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 9 am this morning to 7 PM MST
this evening.

A low pressure system developing over the Great Basin will bring
strong southwest winds to eastern Arizona today. Sustained wind
speeds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts from 35 to 45 mph are expected...
along with minimum relative humidities from 5 to 10 percent.
Humidities will rise above critical levels after 7 PM MST...
although breezy conditions will continue overnight.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are
either occurring now... or will during the warning period. A
combination of strong winds and low relative humidities will
create explosive fire growth potential.

Please notify field crews of this red flag warning.
