A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MST Saturday. A
Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 am MST Saturday.
Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph... with gusts from 30 to 45 mph
will continue past midnight MST tonight.
By early Saturday morning... winds have the potential to become
even stronger. Sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts from 50
to 65 mph are expected... continuing through Saturday. Locally
higher gusts are possible just east of Flagstaff... from the San
Francisco peaks to Doney Park.
Localized portions of the Little Colorado River valley... as well
as portions of I-40 from Two Guns to the New Mexico border...
could see even higher winds. Gusts as high as 75 mph will be
possible in these areas late tonight through Saturday. These
winds will cause areas of blowing dust and sand... as well as the
potential for some structural damage.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph... or gusts
of 58 mph or more... are expected and can lead to property damage.
