NWS Forecaster Discussion
514 fxus64 kshv 131520 afdshv Area forecast discussion National Weather Service Shreveport la 1015 am CDT Monday Oct 13 2008 Discussion... Boundary layer moisture will linger throughout the day keeping cloudy conditions across much of the arklatex. There will be some breaks...but mostly cloudy conditions will linger into the afternoon hours. Regional radars show showers along the coast...but a strong middle level cap will inhibit any shower activity in the area. However 20 cents will continue to cover the southern sections. Morning update will focus on cloud conditions...the rest of the forecast seems to be okay. Eleven && Aviation... Water vapor imagery shows upper trough extending to northwest Arizona...W/original closed low in southeast Saskatchewan...and another forming at the base of the trough. Closer to home...surface analysis places an inverted trough over west/central Texas and...coupled west/surface ridging over the eastern Seaboard...this has resulted in abundant return flow. 12z kshv sounding is saturated through 800 mb...also noted on visible Sat imagery. Expect gradual improvement to VFR ceilings by or shortly after 18z all taf sites...but west/continued return flow...most sites should deteriorate to LIFR ceilings/visibilities after 06z Tuesday. /44/ && Previous point temps/pops... shv 85 67 82 67 81 / 10 20 20 20 40 mlu 83 65 84 64 81 / 10 10 20 20 40 deq 80 64 81 63 75 / 10 10 40 40 50 txk 83 65 81 66 79 / 10 10 30 30 50 eld 82 65 82 66 81 / 10 10 20 20 40 tyr 86 68 81 67 79 / 10 20 30 30 40 ggg 85 67 81 66 80 / 10 20 30 30 40 lfk 87 68 81 68 81 / 20 30 30 30 30 && Shv watches/warnings/advisories...
