Lake Wind Advisory  Statement as of 12:29 am CST on December 3, 2008

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am this morning
to 6 PM CST this afternoon...

A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 10 am this morning to
6 PM CST this afternoon.

As the low pressure and cold front move into the region... the
pressure gradient will strengthen... resulting in strong gusty
winds over the coastal counties and parishes. These winds are
expected to begin increasing around mid-morning, reaching advisory
criteria of sustained 20 mph southerly winds by noon. Gusts to 30
mph can also be expected.

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.

Previous discussion... /issued 859 PM CST Tuesday Dec 2 2008/

Update...
moisture has made it's way into Beaumont Texas this evening with the
dew point at 50 degrees while to the East Lake Charles has a dew
Point of 42 degrees and Lafayette has 40 degrees. Looks like we
will see the lowest temperatures of the night this evening with overnight
temperatures rising slowly into the middle to upper 50s by sunrise. Clouds
will also move from the northwest and this will help in raising
overnight temperatures. A little different than what we are use to...but
it is wintertime.

Tmrw...pressure gradient will tighten as southerly winds will pick
up ahead of a cold front that will move down into the region late
Wednesday into Thursday morning. Another shot at rain ahead of
front...although totals will average less than 1/2 inch most
locations. Then it's back to cold temperatures on Thursday into Friday.

Current forecast was fine have no plans for any updates at this
time.
