248 PM MDT Fri may 16 2008 /148 PM PDT Fri may 16 2008/

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Sunday afternoon
for small streams and tributaries across portions of northwest
Montana and north-central Idaho...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north central Idaho and northwest Montana...
including the following counties... in north central Idaho...
Clearwater and Idaho. In northwest Montana... Lincoln.

* Through Sunday afternoon

* unseasonably warm temperatures combined with above normal snow
pack will result in continued rapid snow melt across northern
Idaho and portions of northwest Montana through Sunday. Smaller
streams and tributaries will react quickly to expected snow melt
as temperatures warm into the 80s and lower 90s. There is a
potential for small streams and tributaries to exceed their
banks resulting in minor flooding.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
