Short term [today and tonight]...high pressure located over the 
northeast United States will build south through tonight bringing 
east winds 5 to 10 miles per hour. Probability of precipitation minimal and continued partly sunny to 
partly cloudy skies. /77 


Long term [sunday through friday]...upper closed low over the 
northeast Gulf of Mexico Sunday morning will evolve into an open 
wave and move west across the northern Gulf through Monday. Strong 
surface high pressure will remain over the southeast Gulf of Mexico. 
Primary impacts will be increasing clouds with light rain/drizzle 
spreading westward over the forecast area Sunday into Tuesday. Lows 
will be about ten degrees above normal through middle week...with highs 
between 4 to 8 degrees above. 


Upper high pressure centered over the forecast area Tuesday morning 
will migrate southwest through midweek as a cold front approaches 
from the north. This will bring isolated showers back to the region 
later in the week. /22

Marine...a high located over the northeast United States will 
strengthen over the weekend. Easterly winds and seas will increase 
over the Gulf coastal waters today through Tuesday. Wind and seas 
will be even higher beyond 20 miles. Fetch 150 miles under east 
wind 20 kts renders 6 to 8 foot seas confirmed by most model outputs 
and bretschneider diagram. /77

Fire weather...an easterly transport flow will gradually increase 
over the weekend as high pressure builds across the southeast 
states. Lowest relative humidity will remain above 50 percent through the middle of 
next week. Isolated rain showers and drizzle will also be around 
Sunday afternoon into Tuesday morning as an upper disturbance moves 
west over the area. /22
