 Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 10:23 PM AKDT on May 16, 2008

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued an

* urban and small stream flood advisory for...
Juneau Borough and northern Admiralty Island

* until 430 am ADT Saturday

* at 1023 PM ADT the public reported that Montana creek has reached
bankfull. Steady moderate rainfall this afternoon and evening has
caused area creeks and rivers to rapidly rise. Rainfall rates have
begun to taper off... however... water levels will continue to rise
through the early morning hours before rapidly falling again towards
day break. Up to 6 inches of water is expected to cover Montana
Creek Road before cresting tonight.

Rain will cause considerable ponding of water in low lying areas,
near culverts, and along small creeks and drainages.

When the USGS river gauge on Montana creek reads 15 ft water will
begin to flow over the Montana Creek Road just before the gun range
in the Juneau area.
